Flag Bearer of God’s Will

Korean-born Rev. Moon invested several decades of his ministry in the U.S. FFWPU-USA

The United States presidential election next Tuesday, November 3, marks a critical juncture for our nation and the American people. The outcome will have an immense impact on global relations, too, affecting foreign affairs, international policy, and public health safety during this pandemic.

The late Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon, co-founder of Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU), long spoke about America’s role in God’s Providence.

He and his wife Mother of Peace Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon shared how God originally planned one world of unification as a global family. However, unity is necessary on all levels, between the mind and body; different families, peoples, nations; and between God and humankind. Through such unity, world peace can be achieved and God’s purpose of creation—one unified world—will be fulfilled.

Below is an excerpt from Rev. Moon’s speech “God’s Plan for America,” given in 1975 before the U.S. Congress in Washington, D.C. explaining the importance of this nation and its influence on the world:

“We must understand that America was formed to be the new flag bearer of Gods Will, to move towards world salvation through cooperation between religion and state. Americas mission is abundantly clear. It is to fulfill the desire that God has had since the beginning, to make this world one world of God, a world in which His ideal will blossom. It is not by accident that Americas founding spirit is described in the motto, ‘One nation under God.’ This was already destined in the Will of God."

Thousands of Japanese-Korean couples put aside historical wounds to wed FFWPU

On October 30th, 1988, Father and Mother Moon, affectionately known as True Parents, blessed in marriage 6,516 couples in a Marriage Blessing Ceremony conducted in the complex of Ilhwa facility in Yong-in, Korea. The ceremony was significant in that it brought together some 2,500 Korean-Japanese couples.

“Korea and Japan have been enemies for a long time, and their animosity has never been healed," said Rev. Moon. "Through this engagement ceremony, emotional strains and hurt will be removed, and the fortunes of these two nations will begin to take root on earth.”

True Parents conducted this Marriage Blessing Ceremony in conjunction with the Seoul Olympics. It was the ninth Marriage Blessing Ceremony following their own Marriage Blessing and the Marriage Blessings of 3, 36, 72, 124, 430, 777, 1,800, and 8,000 couples.
