As spring approaches after a long winter, spring women's outfits will soon fill store shelves at the end of February. Here are some of the latest women's wear trends to look for - from luxury brands to fast-fashion retailers - and some key themes you should not miss in the coming season.
White will rule. White was already everywhere during the 2015-16 autumn/winter season, making it the vogue color. In spring, white will become more versatile, and you will be able to enjoy an all-white look or a mixture of different tones of white, especially with the use of transparent materials such as organdy.
Needless to say, white is an indispensable color for bags and shoes. A widely held theory in the world of fashion is that women take to white when society is gloomy.
I also recommend pink for this season. There will be a variety of pinks, ranging from pink beige and salmon pink to fuchsia pink. Orange coral should not be missed, either.

As far as patterns go, botanical patterns of not only flowers but also of branches and leaves should draw a lot of attention. They are typically shown on soft chiffon or shiny silk satin.
Animal patterns will continue to be popular in the coming season. Cat patterns, a new animal pattern, will especially become the center of attention.
As a fashion item, silk satin bomber jackets with embroidered dragons and other motifs on their backs will also garner attention. The jackets are called "sukajan" a Japanese rendering of the English phrase "Yokosuka jumper." Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, hosts a U.S. military base and is said to be the birthplace of these jackets, which were made for U.S. servicemen. The jackets inherit the style of the MA-1 bomber jacket that was popular during the previous season.
Embroidered silk satin bomber jackets in pink, bordeaux or other warm colors are expected to be highly popular in the coming months, especially among young women.
Polo shirts, apron dresses and double-slit skirts with new design arrangements should also be popular. Relaxing loose trousers and low-waist pants, which follow last year's big hit item, gaucho pants, should be a big part of the new trends.
In autumn and winter, "coardigan," a combined form of "coat" and "cardigan," was a very popular concept. In spring, a similarly long and lean gilet sleeveless coat is sure to attract attention.
As far as design details are concerned, watch for off-the-shoulder designs. Puff sleeves will be one of the most important details.
During the recent Paris fashion week, these sleeves attracted enough attention to curb the excess focus on dressed-down styles. Puff sleeves may sound childish for some women, but this time they are likely to become something adults can enjoy as they are given workwear-like details or coordinated with workwear-inspired outfits.
Fashonistas' perennial favorite summer item - sailor stripe shirts and other striped tops - and clothes with string or tape designs are likely to be seen around town during the coming season.
