Proposal 1 was passed but 8 was banned?????

For those who do not live here in Michigan. Proposal 1 was initiated by us, the Michiganders. Which, it is a measure that would allow medical use of marijuana.

NOW HERE WE GO AGAIN. I DO have my concern with this one even though this proposal was supported by both American Nurses Association and American College of Physicians. But deep down my heart as an RN I DO NOT believe it. I DO NOT believe that among ALL the medications and combinations of compassion care treatment, we CAN NOT effectively find a combination to treat nausea, vomitting, pain or poor appetite? REALLY?

We are doing what we have to do ALREADY, people. The pharmaceutical companies DO make marijuana LEGALLY. Its called marinol. Not to say they also make legal heroin, ecstasy and all the other "prescription stuff" in their million dollar lab.  So why do we really need to have a state statute to make only marijuana use LEGAL? Maybe we should find something POSITIVE about using alcohol and cigarettes too. OOPS, they are already legal.

What kind of proposal is it anyway, really?

And if you look into the details of this proposal, its a HOAX. It allows "the qualifying patients and the caregivers to cultivate their own marijuana..." Lets see who are the caregivers? the doctors? the nurse practitioners? or maybe some Joe Dow from Mexico? They SURE DO grow better marijuana anyway.

Then it allows "the patients and caregivers who are arrested to discuss their medical use in the court." Hmm, lets see...why did they get arrested in the first place? Maybe they need to find out first before they are able to "discuss it" in the court. It also "creates identification cards for registered patients...." REGISTERED patients? since when those addicts need a passport for using drugs anyway? Now they do not even bother to come to the hospital to get FREE drugs after they are "registered." DAMN. This WILL affect my job security.

When the Michiganders voted 60% yes to medical use of marijuana, the proposal 8 was banned by the Californians....

What were they thinking, REALLY?
