When teaching Chinese overseas, I normally only teach fundamental topics such as phoenics as well as basic reading and writing.

   “Sandy Chen’s Historical Stories of China” encompass legends, history, and the origins of idioms. I hope that through these interesting stories, learners not only can improve their Chinese learning and at the same time, can gain more insight on Chinese culture.

   Although each story has a title, I have included a short paragraph under each which either contain a short introduction or some extra material and alternative resources.

   This is for advance study and is not suitable for the beginner. It is intended for people who wish to gain a deeper knowledge about Chinese civilization.
