前台中市長胡志強表示，新北市長朱立倫仍有可能參選總統，但目前他的最大障礙，是顧慮新北市民觀感不佳。胡志強表示，再給朱多一點時間思考，他一定有自己的考量。

國民黨黨內總統初選倒數計時，目前立法院副院長洪秀柱、前衛生署長楊志良已領表，最受矚目的朱立倫和立法院長王金平則尚未表態參選，兩人動向備受關注。

對於朱立倫是否領表參選，胡志強11日出席活動時受訪表示，朱立倫曾親口告訴他，剛連任市長3~4個月就跑去選總統，拋棄自己的責任，他無法做到這樣的事情。但胡志強勸朱，應參選總統，對於這件事新北市民會高興而不會生氣，他們應該樂觀其成。

而同場出席活動的洪秀柱，也被問到對朱立倫可能參選的看法。對此，洪秀柱僅表示，希望一切都按照制度走，朱立倫話說得很明白，不要到處放話弄得大家人心惶惶，黨內團結最重要。
