PS: As I was working in NYC during the mid-90s, when in the evening my cat, a blue Persian, howled at the back yard through the window, I knew there must be a raccoon looking for food in our trash can. Once I tried to reach it, it seemed not to be afraid of me and kept on doing what it did.
FYI, the formal pronunciation of 浣 should be "huan," though "wan" is commonly used.
