My elder granddaughter cut her beautiful tresses short the other day.  Except the bangs that need trimming often, she has barely cut her hair, which are usually combed in braids or in ponytail, since she was born. 

I asked her mother why did she agree to part with the hair.  The answer was she was told the cut hair will give away to the persons who are in need of; for example, the persons who lost their hair because of sickness, like cancer.  She then agreed with alacrity, her mother said.
