１９５７年８月生於奈及利亞伊莫州的阿爾班醫師（Dr. Alban）是奈及利亞裔瑞典歌手．為伊博族人．原名Alban Uzoma Nwapa

２２歲移居時瑞典，在隆德大學攻讀牙醫．

為了供應學費，在斯德哥爾摩夜店當DJ．

學業完成後，開設牙醫診所，但繼續兼職DJ．

 

１９９０年，阿爾班遇到了 SweMix 廠牌的 Denniz Pop，並與 Denniz和說唱藝術家 Leila K合作

９月發行第一張單曲［Hello Afrika／哈囉非洲］（掛名：Dr Alban featuring Leila K）．

此時，他取藝名“阿爾班博士”，以表彰他的牙科研究。

Denniz Pop製作成一首融合舞場雷鬼（Dancehall），雷鬼（reggae ），流行饒舌，電子流行的歐式舞曲，節奏輕快，編曲融合非洲部落元素．

我們是透過DJ 頻道認識的，因為他同時也是DJ。

DJ（我們在簽訂唱片協議之前就將其提供給了他們）播放了這首歌曲並喜歡它，這在俱樂部中產生需求，然後它開始在廣播流行，這為後來的發展鋪平了道路。
