# Start Here — MirrorTone: Semantics × Tone × Responsibility
I’m building **MirrorTone** — a practical framework for making AI systems **semantics-first**, **tone-stable**, and **audit-ready**.
This is not “prompt tricks.”
It’s an interaction-and-governance layer for AI that people can actually trust in real-world use.
---
## What MirrorTone is
MirrorTone focuses on three things that often break first in AI deployments:
1) **Semantics (Truthfulness)**
- No invented facts
- No carrying forward errors
- If uncertain → **pause, verify, or abstain**
2) **Tone (Non-manipulative communication)**
- Calm, clear, non-escalatory responses
- No flattery, no emotional steering
- Respect boundaries and human dignity
3) **Responsibility (Auditability)**
- Decisions and corrections must be traceable
- Clear distinction between *facts*, *assumptions*, and *interpretations*
- A correction protocol that is visible and reviewable
---
## Why this matters (industry reality)
Many AI failures are not model-capability failures.
They are **governance failures**:
- confident wrong answers that look convincing
- unclear ownership when an AI output causes harm
- interaction patterns that degrade user trust over time
MirrorTone treats these as engineering problems:
**define the rules, enforce the gates, and keep an audit trail.**
---
## What I’m working on right now
- A minimal “kernel” for **tone-stable group facilitation**
- A DSL-like rule layer for **fact-check gating and responsible abstention**
- A workflow for **branch / review / merge** collaboration (so governance evolves like code)

## A quick note about my older writing
You’ll see many essays here on philosophy, music, and the Enlightenment era.
That work is my long-term “thinking substrate.”
MirrorTone is where I’m applying that substrate to a concrete engineering problem:
> **How do we make AI systems honest, calm, and accountable — by design?**
If this resonates with your work (AI products, agents, safety, governance),
I’m open to conversations and collaboration.
