For over a year, I lived only one block from the Pacific Ocean. It was only a five-minute short walk to the beach.

That year, I shared an apartment with a dear girl friend in Belmont Heights, Long Beach. Belmont Heights is also only five minutes (walking distance) away to the infamous Belmont Shore, where boutique shops and fine restaurants line up on the Second Street.

I was single and very busy with work. When getting off from work early, or on the weekends, I'd slowly walk down the street and take a nice long walk on the beach, bare foot. Sometimes when I was up to it, I took my bike and rode along the bike lane all the way to Queen Mary, a cruise that's now converted to a hotel and tourist spot.

How I miss those days!
