Ryan is now 3 yrs and 3 month old while Meimie is 1 yr and 2 months old. Last night at 7:30 PM, I asked them to clean up before going upstairs for bedtime. The two of them – yes, including the little girl – started to pick up books and toys scattered all over the living room. The books went to the book case while the toys went into the toy boxes. Meimei even picked up trash and threw them into the trash can. Then she gave me the sweetest smile and clapped her little hands when I said, “Good job, Meimei!”

Within 10 minutes, the living room became the cleanest place in the house. The two of them said “night night” to the guest we had, and started to move upstairs. After a shower, story and prayer time, they quietly went to bed. I was downstairs by 8:00 PM to join our guest again.

I was actually pretty amazed to see this played out in front of me. Now my 1 and 3 year olds clean up better than I do. They were happy, obedient and as proud of themselves as they should be! It is really a delight to raise these wonderful children.
