Unemployment drops slightly to 3.87% in Dec.

12月份的失業率輕微下降至百分之3.87

Unemployment in Taiwan fell 0.04 percentage points to 3.87 percent in December, the second lowest level for the month in eight years, according to the bureau of statistics on Friday.

根據統計局本周五公布的結果，十二月份的失業率百分之3.87，下降0.04個百分點，為八年來同月份的第二低點。

The rate of unemployment in November rose 0.01 percentage points from October to reach 3.91 percent, according to the the Directorate General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics (DGBAS). The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate stood at 3.84 percent.

根據行政院主計總處表示，十一月份的失業率百分之3.91，較十月份上升0.01個百分點。經調整季節變動因素後之失業率為百分之3.84。

The rate of youth unemployment for people aged between 16 and 24 remained high at 12.49 percent in December.

十二月份16歲至24歲的青年失業率為百分之12.49，依然處於高點。

A DGBAS official stated that the weak economy had an impact on the local labor market, but it was small.

一位行政院主計總處的官員表示衰退的經濟對勞動市場有影響，但影響很微小。

The latest unemployment figures for neighboring countries: Japan registered 3.3 percent, while unemployment stood at 3.3% in Hong Kong, 3.4% in South Korea and 2.0% in Singapore, making Taiwan the region's worst performing labor market.
