Of two or more entities, to approach each other; to get closer and closer

Ex:The streams converge into a single river.

 

2. Cattle (n.) [ 'kætl ]

Domesticated bovine animals (cows, bulls, steers etc)

Ex:There are five cows and a calf in that herd of cattle.

 

3. Overlord (n.) [ˋovɚ͵lɔrd]

A ruler of other rulers

Ex: His new overlord demanded the service of one of his sons .

 

4. Indigenous (adj.) [ɪnˋdɪdʒɪnəs]

Born or engendered in, native to s land or region

Ex: a plant indigenous to New Zealand

 

5. Inadequacy (n.) [ɪnˋædəkwəsɪ]

The state of being inadequate

A man who rows a boat, either alone or with others

 

7. Hieroglyphic (n.) [͵haɪərəˋglɪfɪk]

A writing system of ancient Egypt, Minoans, Maya and other civilization, using pictorial symbols to represent individual sounds as a rebus

Ex: a person propelled by ambition

A person or thing that immediately follows another in holding an office or title

Ex: The vice president was the president ' s successor .

 

12. One-upmanship (n.)

The art or practice of successively outdoing a competitor

Ex:They are bent on one-upmanship. I think it's hopeless to try to stop them.

A physical tilt or bend

Ex:Artillery must take account of a weapon's precise inclination

 

14. Glare (n.) (v.) [ gler ]

An intense, blinding light

Ex:He walked in late, with the teacher glaring at him the whole time.

In an intense manner

Ex:An intensely private man, he kept chit-chat to a minimum.

To send someone away and forbid that person from returning

Ex:He was banished from the kingdom.

To marry a member of another group, social stratum, or religion

Ex:Mary was Catholic and Ron was Jewish, but they decided that it was acceptable to intermarry.

Having or displaying ill will; wishing harm on others

Ex:That criminal is malevolent.

A piece of women’s ornamental jewelry having a pin allowing it to be fixed to garments worn on the upper body

Ex:Dad bought a brooch as a gift to mom.

the quality of being decent; propriety

Ex: He didn ' t even have the decency to call .
