なつまつり

浴衣に下駄に
ゆかたにげたに
yukata ni geta ni
In swimwear and wooden clogs
髪飾り
かみかざり
kami kazari
Decorated hair
I wrote this haiku originally in Japanese and only translated it into English to demonstrate that haikus can be written in any language as long as the two conditions are fulfilled. Read the English translation again and you'll see that it has met the syllabic requirement of 5-7-5 in each of those lines, as well as the seasonal summer tag requirement in the first line.
