新教宗「良14世」亮相 首位美國籍教宗

羅馬天主教會新任教宗是總主教普雷沃斯特

(Robert Francis Prevost)，他成為第267任教宗

名號是「良14世」(Leo XIV) 

他是天主教會歷來第一位在美國出生的教宗。

良14世於1955年出生在美國芝加哥，

1977年加入聖奧斯定修會，1985年加入秘魯的奧古斯丁傳教團。

他主要的布道生涯在秘魯度過，於是在2015年，確認加入秘魯國籍。

他會說英語、西班牙語、義大利語、法語和葡萄牙語，

也能讀拉丁語和德語。

2023年9月3日由前任教宗方濟各授予樞機紅帽。
