《500 Miles》離家五百里，由美國民謠歌手Hedy West創作，最早是Hedy West於1961年發行，但並沒有因此走紅，反倒是兩年後由當時知名的男歌手Bobby Bare
把這首歌給唱紅了，從此這首歌開始了它的長青旅程。最有名的版本是1962年Peter， Paul & Mary合唱的版本，短短三年的時間奠定了這首歌注定為經典金曲的命運，數十年來的時間並沒有沖淡人們對它的喜愛幾乎是合唱團體傳唱度最高的一首。
2013年一部電影Inside Llewyn Davis(醉香民謠)，又再次讓這首歌燃起了熱度，電影有人氣歌手大賈斯汀以及兩位知名演員的這段合唱，讓人又再感動一次。
後有日本搖滾歌神忌野清志郎改編日文版的500 miles，被松隆子和忌野清志郎本人唱過。
這首歌唱起了許多離鄉背井的遊子，離家時滿懷夢想想闖出一片天，結果失意不知道該如何回家之心情。
