從小熱愛音樂的Megan，學鋼琴超過六年，曾獲得 2021 亞洲盃鋼琴比賽優等獎。更自學電吉他、貝斯等樂器，同時考取街頭藝人執照，利用寒暑假在台北街頭表演。並結合公益為特殊教育募款，不僅展現音樂表演上的才華，更喚起社會對特教的關注與關心！
Megan Chu同學具備以下三項亮點，讓他在申請學校上擁有較佳優勢：
亮點一：以社會正義為核心的申請主題A Thematic Application
Megan has a strong passion for community service, law, and politics. From elementary school to high school, she has been actively involved in organizing charitable events for special education schools. In her second year of high school, she served as the representative of Taipei’s Rotary 3521 District Interact Club and the president of her school’s Interact Club. She led members in various service projects, including English reading programs, blood donation drives in Xinyi District, and recycling initiatives.
Her interest in law motivated her to attend the Law as a Tool of Social Justice course at Columbia University during the summer of her first year in high school. These experiences naturally shaped her application around the theme of social justice, allowing universities to see her passion and commitment to creating a meaningful impact.
為了更深入了解法律，高一暑假期間，她參加了紐約哥倫比亞大學的「Law as a Tool of Social Justice」課程，拓展了她在社會正義領域的視野。Megan 申請時的文書撰寫自然圍繞著「社會正義」的主題，清晰展現她對該領域的熱情與投入，讓大學端看見其熱忱與對社會的承諾(Passion and Commitment) ，使大學招生人員印象深刻。

Megan has always had a deep love for music. After over six years of learning piano and receiving an Excellent Award at the 2021 Asian Piano Competition, she decided to self-learn electric guitar and bass. In high school, she joined the school’s Music Production Club, performing as both a guitarist and a vocalist. Outside of school, she obtained a street performer license and spent her summer and winter breaks performing solo or with friends on the streets of Taipei. Combining her passion for music and volunteering, Megan also organized performances to raise funds for special education schools.
Additionally, Megan is passionate about photography. She joined the school’s Photography Club and served as its president in her junior year, further honing her skills and artistic perspective. These diverse interests have enriched her experiences and highlight her talents across art, community service, and leadership, showcasing her well-rounded abilities and creative spirit.

Have faith that everything will work out as it’s meant to during the college application season. New York City has always felt like my second home, a place I’ve dreamed of studying since elementary school. Every step I’ve taken and all the hard work I’ve put in have been driven by my aspiration to attend college in NYC. Trust that your dedication and perseverance will guide you to the right place, even if the journey feels uncertain at times.
Megan 始終相信，只要付出努力，結果自有安排。紐約市一直是她心中的夢想家園，從小學起便立志於此地深造。她的每一步努力、每一分付出，都是為了實現這個夢想。她也深信，無論過程如何不確定，堅持與毅力最終將指引她到達適合的地方。

When writing your college application essays, consider the power of personal storytelling. A captivating essay doesn’t need to recount a grand achievement; even the simplest experiences can leave a lasting impression. Whether it’s planting a cactus in your backyard or collecting stickers, the true value of your story lies in the lesson you learned and how it connects to broader aspects of life.
Starting your application process early, ideally before summer break, can significantly reduce stress and improve the quality of your submissions. Use this time to create a thoughtful college list, and consider organizing the deadlines in a Google Sheet.
Lastly and most importantly, if you have a dream school, go for it! Don’t let social media trends or other people’s opinions sway you from your goals. Authenticity and self-belief are essential in this process. Trust in your vision, embrace your unique qualities, and never be afraid to chase your dreams.
