"Switch off" means to stop giving your attention to someone or something. When you are tired physically or mentally to a certain extent, you might need to just switch off for a while to think about nothing.
"Switch off" 就是不去理會周圍的人、事、物(俗稱:放空)，當你身體或是心靈上的疲倦到達一定程度時，你可能需要switch off一段時間，就這樣，什麼也都不去思考。
Basically "switch off" means "turn off". You might ask your brother to switch off the light before he leaves the room. Therefore, you switch off as if you switch off the power of you. You just sit there and stay still, not going to react to anything but you and silence. Please check picture.1
