"Can I Take a rain check" is used to tell someone I do not want to accept the invitation now, but I might probably accept it at another time. For example, when Jess asked me for a movie, I responded "I need to take a rain check this time because I have said Yes to my mom to clean the house today". From this story, I told Jess that I cannot go with her but maybe sometime else we could go together!!! 

"Can I Take a rain check"是用來告訴某人我這次沒辦法參與，但是下次應該就沒有問題了。 舉例來說，當Jess邀請我去看電影時，我回覆她"I need to take a rain check this time 因為我已經答應我媽媽今天要把家裡打掃乾淨". 從這個故事中，我告訴Jess這一次我沒有辦法和她一起去看電影，但是也許其它時間我們就可以一起去看了!!! 

The origin of rain check is stem from a story of a baseball game. Baseball has been one of the most popular sports in America. When people got the ticket for the game but unluckily the unpleasant rain postponed the game to a later time. Then you can take the rain check, rain ticket, to come to the pointed game at a procrastinated date. Thus we use "Can I take a rain check" to tell people this time I cannot be there, but I would like to go or do at a later time.  "Please check picture.1
