"Beside the point" means words are not at the point. "Point" refers to the main topic. When you hear somebody is derailing from the current topic, or tries to add up with unnecessary twists, you can say "Don’t talk beside the point," which means the whole discussion should be back on the point!
"Beside the point"是指談話的內容已經偏離主題。"Point"就是指主要的題目的意思。當你聽到有人在討論的事務越來越和主題無關的時候，或是加入一些無關緊要的插曲時，你可以說"Don’t talk beside the point"，其意思為整個討論的內容應該要回歸正題!
