根據俄羅斯歷史事件改編的電影與歌劇,描述俄羅斯帝國沙皇尼古拉2世,一生傳奇故事,讓世人記得封建時代的悲劇.本片場景實地區於莫斯科的話克里姆林宮與聖彼得堡的夏宮與冬宮等地拍攝,人物造型力求還原歷史情節,由於俄國人記憶猶新,讓本片在俄羅斯上演期間,廣受好評,但是海外市場則冷淡反映,你們台灣當然也不會引進放映.
因為影片中描繪出沙皇尼古拉2世奢華浪費的宮廷生活,諸多的舞會,宴會,王公貴族們的貪婪,以及萎靡的生活與當時黎民百姓生活的困苦,形成強烈的對比寫照,歷史是一面鏡子,她反映出真實的一面,提醒世人切勿重蹈覆轍,否則戰爭與政變及革命,搔亂四起,俄羅斯帝國就如此垮台結束.綜觀沙皇尼古拉2世,悲劇性的全家被革命黨殺害而結束,是扔有部份羅斯民眾,相信小公主尚且活在人世間,就出真假公主,另一章的故事情節.
如今的俄羅斯歷經帝制與共產黨的統治,演變成民主政黨政權的更替,俄國人的選擇是多元化的嘗試,世界舞台的歷史,記載唯有強大統一的國家政權,才能夠貫徹意識,執行政策與其他強權國家競爭,俄羅斯共和國的普京大帝,正在嘗試並企圖恢復過來俄羅斯帝國的榮耀,也許普京應該多多舉辦宮廷舞會與宴會,來張顯還原沙皇時代的歌舞昇平的場面,否則俄羅斯的納稅人的辛苦血汗錢,都用在國防軍事上?

《俄羅斯方舟》(《創世紀》)(Русский ковчег),是由俄國導演亞歷山大·蘇古諾夫於2002年所執導的電影,為康城影展主競賽片。片中他「扮演」一位匿名、無影像的旁白,隨著片中由德萊堅(Sergei Dreiden)飾演的法國文人古斯丁(Marquis de Custine),漫步在俄國聖彼得堡的冬宮(Зимний дворец)。片中蘇古諾夫與古斯丁不僅穿梭於冬宮,在時間上甚至跨越300餘年的俄國歷史。
古斯丁在歷史上真有其人。他於1839年造訪俄國,回國寫了本遊記,本片也編入了古斯丁真實的經驗。古斯丁本人信仰虔誠,在該遊記《1839年的俄國》(La Russie en 1839)中,他表示縱使俄國強調西化,但卻是歐洲皮亞洲骨。也因此俄國歷史是個大劇場,他在俄國碰到的人們各個都是演員。《創世紀》讓古斯丁這個角色引領鏡頭的考量便有引入歐洲角色,帶出檢視俄國自身歷史的意味.
Russian Ark (Russian: Русский ковчег, Russkij Kovcheg) is a 2002 experimental historical drama film directed by Alexander Sokurov. It was filmed entirely in the Winter Palace of the Russian State Hermitage Museum on 23 December 2001 using a one-take single 96-minute Steadicam sequence shot. The film was entered into the 2002 Cannes Film Festival.[2]
An unnamed narrator wanders through the Winter Palace in Saint Petersburg. The narrator implies that he died in some horrible accident and is a ghost drifting through the palace. In each room, he encounters various real and fictional people from various periods in the citys 300-year history. He is accompanied by "the European", who represents the Marquis de Custine, a 19th-century French traveler. Russian Ark uses the fourth wall device extensively, but repeatedly broken and re-erected. At times the narrator and the companion interact with the other performers, while at other times they pass unnoticed.
RUSSIA ARK 拍攝期間,動用許多人力,物力支援工作,其中在聖彼得堡的夏宮與冬宮拍攝,華麗盛大的宮廷舞會與宴會,盡可能的還原沙皇尼古拉2世的場景,許多的臨時演員,排練花費頗多,衣物,服飾,幾乎完全一樣,至於王公貴族們,生活禮儀細節,都有助理人員協助指導,當然警方不敢大意,因為夏宮與冬宮完全開放,無論是場外景與場內景,真實的重現,當時沙皇時代的生活,當然各式各樣的傢俱用品等物件,投保高額度的保險費,以防萬一損毀或是盜竊事件發生,電影拍攝期間,非工作人員,均不得入內,否則以涉嫌盜竊罪論處?
Russian Ark is an enigma of a film; a poetic, time-bending artistic look through history. I finished watching the film mere days ago and Im still formulating my own theories over what its actually about. However theres one thing that wasnt up for debate upon finishing the mesmerising 100 minutes, and that was how well the cinematography managed to capture the pure romanticism of the 19th century.
Filmed all in a single take over a single day (and with none of that editing trickery found in other "single take" films such as Rope or Silent House) Russian Ark glides effortlessly from scene to scene seamlessly. Transitioning in-camera from an 19th century theatre play to a modern day tourist museum separated only by a door takes masterful, impeccable filmmaking technique - yet Russian Ark makes it seem so easy.

The breadth of variety in the locations is what keeps Russian Ark from meandering. While yes, most of it is set in the 1800s, the film still manages to show these familiar settings in different ways from different characters viewpoints. The massive romantic rooms are full of evocative details that nicely complements the in-narrative debates over famous works of art. The characters come up with their own interpretations of these works, encouraging the audience to do the same about this picture. As the unseen narrator and his mysterious, Gothic companion "The European" travel through the palace interacting with Russian historical figures and events either directly - or through the retrospective point of art - theres a real heritage and weight to Russian Ark. It works equally both as a celebration of historical culture as well a critique of it.
