林昀萱解釋，圓形禿俗稱鬼剪發，是一種自體免疫的問題，屬於非疤痕性落髮，頭髮以後仍是有可能再長出來的。固然說是自體免疫的問題，但也可能跟家族史、飲食、壓力、傳染、疫苗、賀爾蒙轉變有關，任何年紀都可能産生，還可能合併指甲和其他自體免疫的問題，例如甲狀腺異常、白斑、異位性體質。

皮膚專科醫師林昀萱在臉書粉專「油滑女醫皮膚專科林昀萱醫師」發文指出，落髮困擾其實很常見，曾經有一名年青女孩在她面前邊哭邊說「我的同事笑我禿頂，頭髮都長不出來，我天天上班都感覺壓力好大」，可見有些人只知道東西不克不及亂吃，卻不知道話不能亂講。

今（28）日舉辦的第94屆奧斯卡頒獎儀式産生放送不測！頒獎佳賓克里斯洛克（Chris Rock）拿威爾史密斯妻子潔達（Jada Pinkett Smith）的光頭造型開頑笑，卻不知潔達為脫毛症所苦，因罹患圓形禿（俗稱的鬼理發），才會將頭髮全部剃掉，氣得威爾史姑娘衝上台暴揍對方。對此，皮膚專科醫師林昀萱指出，其實跨越90%的圓形禿患者有機遇長回悉數的頭髮，但即使恢復了，仍有可能再次復發。

外觀上可以看到頭髮禿一塊，有的小塊，有的大塊，可以單一塊，也能夠很多塊，乃至有些人會整頭頭髮都掉光（alopecia totalis），更嚴重的連眉毛、睫毛或全身的毛髮都掉光光（alopecia universalis），有7%至66%的人可能同時有指甲問題，像是指甲出現凹洞、變粗糙、呈現橫向凹溝、變厚或變薄等等。

至於有鬼理發的人什麼時辰才會長出頭髮？林昀萱直言，這其實異常難展望！有34%至50%的人1年內就本身好，但也有14%至25%的人可能會進展到全頭禿髮或是全身性禿髮，但這也不表示頭髮掉越多就越沒法恢復，還是有超過90%的人有機遇頭髮所有長回來。不外有這類困擾的人，就算此次頭髮恢復了，以後還是可能會有一樣的情形再度呈現。

什麼樣的人就算有追求協助，效果也欠好？林昀萱示意，有家族史、年數輕輕就掉髮、有指甲問題、大局限掉髮、頭皮側面和枕部帶狀掉髮、有異位性體質和其他自體免疫問題。而處置方式為外用類固醇、局部注射、免疫療法、低能量光照等等。
