常聽人說：「哎呀~~看得懂就好！大家還不是都這樣」，這種隨隨便便、馬馬虎虎的傳統心態，也充分反映在英語學習和使用上，甚至與職場生命息息相關的英文履歷亦復如此，簡直是拿前途開玩笑。
接續之前的「中式英文履歷」探討（詳如前文），請同學們再看以下的錯誤寫法：
● Successfully launched 5 new projects and reached history high sales record.
（成功推動五個新計畫，並達到業績歷史新高。）
相信大家英雄所見略同，又是一看就懂，而且很多人一窩蜂當成範例套招，可惜這是中式英文標準範例，錯誤還非常嚴重。
首先，「業績」（應為 sales results）不能寫成 sales record，因其實際字義是「客戶資料」，而且 record 是「可數名詞」，單數型態必須要有「指示詞」（如 a 或 the），前一篇文章中的 phone call 即出現相同錯誤，可見「名詞」觀念不清是「中式英文」的一大特色。
其次，「達到歷史新高」寫成 reached history high 根本就是直譯。正確的表達方式如下：
1. reached/hit a historic high（high 為「名詞」）
2. at a historic high
除了使用 historic 之外，也可以有以下不同表達方式：
1. hit an all-time high
2. at a record high（record 為「形容詞」）
原錯誤句可更改如下：
● Successfully launched 5 new projects and achieved record-breaking sales results.
不過就實務面而言，這種寫法還是有問題。銷售業績通常是以月或季為單位，如果不註明是創下哪一年哪一季（月）的銷售紀錄，等於是在打高空瞎掰，沒加到分反而先扣分。因此必須再改為：
● Successfully launched 5 new projects and achieved record-breaking sales results for the first quarter of 2010.
（成功推動五個新計畫，並創下2010年第一季銷售業績歷史新高。）
如果是史上年度銷售冠軍，寫法為：
● Successfully launched 5 new projects and achieved record-breaking sales results in 2010.
連續幾年都破歷史紀錄的銷售天王，則為：
● Successfully launched 5 new projects and achieved record-breaking sales results for 5 consecutive years (2010-2014).
