I have a strong calling to protect others.

I have a strong calling to be a protector.

(1) calling 是「使命感」，「對（做）某件事情有使命感」，句型是 have a calling to do something。

(2) calling 也可以當成「職（專）業」（vocation/profession），因此原句 my calling is . . . 會有「我的職業是‥‥‥」的意思。
