My habit was to listen to music.

改錯研析：

One of my hobbies is listening to music.

I had a habit of listening to music in the bathroom when I was in college.  

(1) habit 是指「習慣性的動作」，跟「興趣」或「嗜好」（hobby）不可混為一談。「聽音樂」（listening to music）是「嗜好」，不是中文直譯的廣義「習慣」，因此要用 hobby，而且通常嗜好不止一種，必須用複數形態的 hobbies，例如：

My hobbies include listening to music and watching movies.

（我的嗜好包含了聽音樂和看電影。）

單獨講 listening to music，則是「嗜好之一」（one of my hobbies）。

(2) 「嗜好」多半指現在仍然保持的喜好活動，因此動詞時態必須使用「現在式」。

(3) 若特指在某種情況下會做的特定習慣動作，必須以 have a habit of doing something 來表示，例如：

I have a habit of biting my fingernails when I feel nervous.

(我緊張的時候會習慣性咬指甲。)

(4) 壞習慣想改還是改得掉（break the bad habit of doing something）。如果使用「過去式動詞」had，是表示過去才有的習慣，因此原錯誤句改成 I had a habit of listening to music. 還不夠，必須進一步述明：

a. 過去什麼時候的習慣？（大學時期：when I was in college）

b. 在什麼情況下會出現的習慣？（如廁中：in the bathroom）

(5) 「聽音樂」（listening to music）是「嗜好」（hobby），但「在廁所聽音樂」（listening to music in the bathroom）則是「習慣」（habit）。
