I was blamed, for I made a fault.

改錯研析：

I was blamed for the mistake.

I was blamed for the spelling mistakes.

(1) blame somebody/something for something 為固定用法，指「某人/物需為某事（如過失或錯誤等）負責」，somebody/something be blamed for something 是「被動語態」的表達方式。此處 for 為「介係詞」，原句中 for 為「對等連接詞」，兩者切勿混淆。

(2) 英文無 make a fault 的用法，且「及物動詞」 blame 的字義已蘊含 fault，句中無需畫蛇添足再提到 fault：

feel or declare that (someone or something) is responsible for a fault or wrong (Oxford Dictionaries)

因此，不能講 I was blamed for the fault.，而是 I was blamed for the mistake.，或直接講 It was my fault.。

(3) 若無上下文，必須明確說明「為某事負責」中的「某事」為何事：

I was blamed for the spelling mistakes.

I was blamed for the mistake of inviting Mary to the party.
