(1) 對話場景是在士林故宮，而「Where did you come from?」意思是「您是從哪裡過來的」（您打哪來），也就是問「Which/What part of Taiwan did you come from?」，回答「I'm from Yilan.」（我是宜蘭人）等於答非所問，應該說「I came from Yilan.」（我從宜蘭來的）。

(2) 台灣四面環海多的是「海岸城市」，光講 a coastal city on the east coast 不是有講等於沒講？何況一般人對「東海岸」的認知是花蓮和台東，宜蘭屬「東北角」。
