日前屏東教育大學前副教授陳震遠因利用人頭以便「自己的論文自己審」，增加論文發表數，共有60篇論文被JVC察覺撤銷，總編輯也引咎辭職，包括紐約時報、洛杉磯時報、華盛頓郵報與衛報都有報導此一醜聞。其中有5篇卻由教育部長蔣偉寧掛名，沒想到蔣於記者會卻宣稱「不認識」（第二次改口「有見二次面，但不熟」）捲入論文造假案的陳，隨即又被發現自2002年起，至少跟他共同發表過七篇以上的文章。

蔣偉寧在「須由當事人自行填寫」的科技部研究人才網所登錄之論文，也被找到遭撤除的4篇論文：
