I’m dealing with an issue related to my original Ford VCM2 hardware, which I believe is genuine, paired with Ford IDS software. I’ve successfully used it a few times on around ten vehicles without any problems, running it on a Russian version of VMware with pre-installed IDS 99 that I found on this forum. However, I was recently prompted to update the tool’s software due to new versions being available. Faced with the choice to upgrade or stop using it, I opted to upgrade.
Since then, every time I connect to my vehicle, I receive a message instructing me to ensure that the following actions are taken, but the screen remains blank with no additional information.
In an attempt to resolve the issue, I tried reverting to a previous version by installing a functional version of IDS (86.something) and running CleanVCMUtil.exe, among other troubleshooting steps, but nothing has worked.
I would greatly appreciate any assistance. The Chinese alternative, the VCM OBD FoCOM cable, is not effective at all!
Thank you in advance!
