Patch 1.28.0 hit on May 12, 2026, because the Arc Raiders Skill Points bug was eating rewards after Expedition 3 ended on May 11. If you departed and didn't get your 5 permanent points, you're not crazy; while checking ARC Raiders Items prices between raids, I saw the same panic everywhere. The short version: the patch fixes the error for future departures, but missing rewards are being restored by manual account audits.

Arc Raiders Skill Points bug: what actually broke?

The issue wasn't your Caravan, your damage counter, or some hidden rule you missed. The game failed to hand out earned account-wide Skill Points after players completed the third Expedition window and departed. That's a big deal because those points stick around after resets and feed your Raider's Stamina, Combat Efficiency, and General Survival upgrades. No shot I'd call that a small cosmetic hiccup.

I departed after grinding ARC units for damage, and the whole thing felt way more tense than the old stash-value seasons. Expedition 1 asked for 5 million in Stash value, Expedition 2 dropped that to 3 million in Coin or Stash value, then Expedition 3 swerved into 100,000 damage dealt to ARC enemies. The studio first set a five-day window, then stretched it to nearly two weeks, ending May 11, which was the right call. A lot of players needed that extra time because RNG, bad extracts, and random PvP nonsense don't care about your schedule.

How do you qualify for the 5 Expedition Skill Points?

You need three things lined up before you hit Depart. Build the Expedition Caravan, meet the season goal, then leave during the active window. The Caravan won't work without a pile of Rust Belt junk: materials, weapons, and basic supplies, so don't treat it like a side menu you finish in one night. If you left before confirming the 100,000 ARC damage target, yeah, that's rough; the reset can happen without the full bonus.

Here's the thing though: the damage requirement pushed the meta in a better direction. Instead of hoarding like a paranoid raccoon, players started farming ARC swarms with Line in the Sand setups, kill boxes, explosives, and heavy rifles. I burned through more ammo than I'd like to admit, but dragging reinforcements into a tight lane gave better DPS than chasing single bots across open ground. Patch 1.27.0 also killed the instant Trigger 'Nade trick, which made fights less goofy and way less busted in PvP.

Best items to farm before your next Expedition

Industrial Batteries are still the boring item you should never ignore. They pop up a lot in industrial zones and basements, and you'll need them for Caravan work more often than you want. Rusted Gears are your scrapyard bread and butter for early-to-mid crafting, while Medical Merchandise is worth grabbing from hospital ruins and Med-Center containers. For The Clean Dream questline, I wouldn't trust any exact drop-rate chart yet; player notes help, but official numbers are still thin.

What happens next for Expedition 4?

Expedition 4 is probably landing around mid-July 2026 if the rough 60-day rhythm holds, but the next requirement hasn't been confirmed. I'm not sold on it staying damage-based, even if that system made people fight more and bank less. The Castaway Set also joined the store rotation, and the third Patchwork Outfit update went to players who departed in Expedition 3, so check your cosmetics if your rewards look weird. For players trying to rebuild fast, trade for supplies, or compare item options, RSVSR can fit into that prep loop, but don't depart again until your Skill Point audit is settled.
