Standard Gain Horn Antenna
Standard gain horn antennas are used as calibration devices that measure the gain of other antennas.

科學界普遍認為,地震帶上每數十年到數百年,就會釋放能量出現大地震,不過英國有最新研究推翻這個看法。該團隊透過研究喜馬拉雅山上的「拉拉湖」沉積物,發現大地震的發生不會依照特定週期,而是相當隨機。
Horn antenna喜馬拉雅山上的「拉拉湖」,每當發生規模6以上強震時,就會形成明顯的沉積層。而英國南極勘測團隊,在湖內一共挖出50層的沉積物,且透過碳定年法發現沉積物最早可追溯到6千年前。科學家在分析沉積物後,認為大地震的發生,並不會依照特定週期,而是相當隨機,有時候還成群出現,因此更難預測。
Horn antenna英國南極勘測地球物理學家蓋佐伊指出,我們以為再等個數百年或數千年就會發生大地震,但如今已不能仰賴這些數字,「我們分析這些地方的地震紀錄,發現地震並沒有遵循這些週期,不像時鐘一樣的規律」。
