針對本日各地停電，台電最新說明指出，上午9時7分，因興達電廠開關場變亂，致使南部地區電力供需失衡，龍崎超高壓變電所以南機組跳脫，系統主動切離回護，故造成南部地域停電。事故産生當時系統備轉容量率達24.61%。因全台電力系統遭到刹時影響，引發中北部區域低頻卸載，今朝各電廠陸續恢復回復供電。台電表示，今朝水力已啟動發電，南部各電廠巡檢中，燃氣、燃煤、核能將陸續啟動。

郭台銘客歲12月19日針對四大公投結果受訪時透露表現，「這是人民表達本身的想法，但不管人民是什麼思惟在做這個決議，明年必然缺電！且工業會缺電、家庭民生也城市缺！那既然大家做出決意，到時缺電就不要抱怨」。

隨後台電針對郭台銘的言論也透露表現，「郭創辦人是社會心見首腦，善意提出提醒，不外確保供電不亂是台電時時刻刻的工作，公投前是如許，公投後也是如許」；而經濟部長王美花今年初受訪時，也針對能源議題示意經濟部早有因應辦法，很有把握絕對不會缺電，還要跟郭董賭博一片雞排。
