中華職棒第6隊台鋼雄鷹15日進行第二天的測試會，「左右開投」的遠東科技大學投手薛育鈞成為教練們關注的焦點，上次叩關中職選秀專攻右投，可惜最後沒有受到青睞，這次台鋼測試會他重拾左右開投的罕見本領，成功搏得眾人眼光。
大學晚讀一年的薛育鈞今年24歲，在中華棒球協會登錄資料投、打都是「S」，就是兩手都可以用。去年他原本有報名參加中職測試會，希望能想要投給大家看，但可惜最終測試會為疫情取消，薛育鈞小時候其實本來就是左撇子，之後慣用手卻被家人改成右手，國小練棒球時，爸爸發現他左右手都能丟球，鼓勵他左右開弓，也讓他成為相當罕見的「左右開投」。

薛育鈞表示上次使用左投已經是大一，相隔3年重啟，對於自己這次在測試會的表現已經相當滿意，而過去因為受限於胸腔內裝有矯正支架，從國中後就沒有長局數投球，現在主要都是擔任中繼或是後援角色，不過薛育鈞表示，雖然在比賽後半上場壓力很大，但自己其實很享受在高壓的狀態下投球，很喜歡那種高張力的緊張感，但如果未來有機會，也希望能重新挑戰先發。
