Charles Dickens 是19世紀英國最傑出的小說家, 著作包含歌劇、笑劇、短篇小說和長篇小說，以長篇小說最為成功。狄更斯的作品大部分描寫生活在英國社會底層的「小人物」的生活遭遇，深刻地反映了當時英國當時複雜的社會情景，為英國批判現實主義文學的開拓和發展做出了卓越的貢獻。

題中的雙城指的是倫敦與巴黎，

It's just because we could compare with those history. We can learn from history so that we know what good is and what should we fight for!

看完悲慘世界內心是熱血彭湃的，特別是最後的那首法國國歌
人們心中存在著希望與被救贖，相信團結可以改革現況。
相反地，在雙城記裡，同樣是法國大革命的情景，但卻透露出現實的殘酷與不公。
