Currently, portable fire extinguishers are highly effective initial fire-fighting tools for handling newly emerging fires and are commonly equipped in households, businesses, offices, workplaces, and manufacturing facilities.
Therefore, alongside using various types of fire extinguishers, we also need to equip ourselves with knowledge and skills for inspecting and properly storing common fire extinguishers.
For dry chemical fire extinguishers:
Proper storage of dry chemical fire extinguishers:
Dry chemical fire extinguishers should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated, easily accessible location, away from direct sunlight and strong heat radiation.
If stored outdoors, they should be provided with shelter or kept in specialized fire extinguisher cabinets to prevent exposure to high temperatures.

When moving the extinguisher, handle it with care, avoiding impacts that could lead to cracks, breakage, or damage.
Periodic inspection of the extinguisher:
During usage, it is essential to inspect the extinguisher according to the manufacturers specifications, at least once every three months.
Examine the exterior of the extinguisher, looking for signs of rust, cracks, fractures, or any deformities on the outer shell, carrying handle, valve, hose, or discharge nozzle. Check if the safety pin and tamper seal are intact.
Use the pressure gauge (pressure indicator) to verify the pressure inside the extinguisher. If the needle falls below the safe range (below the green zone), it is necessary to refill the extinguisher with the appropriate pressure according to standards.
Confirm the extinguishers weight by using a scale and compare it to the weight indicated on the label.
Regular inspections and proper storage of dry chemical fire extinguishers are crucial to ensure their effectiveness and reliability in case of a fire emergency.
