最近對未來科技似乎很感興趣的聯合航空，不僅投資了 1,500 萬美元予電動飛車製造商 Eve Air Mobility，而且還同時下訂了 400 架（200 架確定訂單 + 200 架加購選項）其四人座的 eVTOL 電動「飛行計程車」，預計最快 2026 年交貨。

聯航此舉除了看好城市內的短程移動服務的未來前景外，也是因為 Eve 和飛機製造商 Embraer 有著相當緊密的合作關係，讓聯航對於 Eve 能順利交貨有著不小的信心。不過，這也不是聯航唯一投注的公司，上個月聯航也有向一間加州的飛行計程車公司下訂 100 架的飛車，並付了 1,000 萬美元的訂金。如果兩邊都全數交貨的話，聯航便將坐擁 500 架飛車了。

Eve 的這款飛車採用是固定翼加上升力旋翼及推進旋翼的設計，據稱它將有 100 公里的航程，並且聯航稱它相較於傳統飛機可以「降低音量達 90%」。這是聯航減排的努力的一部份，聯航希望在 2050 年達到碳中和，因此透過自家的 United Airlines Ventures 基金，對氫燃料電池引擎、再生燃料、當然還有電動飛車進行投資。
