1.3、現代審美主義的“非基偏差
應該看到,中西現代美學中的審美觀念,確實對基督教及其神學文化存有諸多誤解甚至偏見。
從審美意識上來看,人的美感並非與基督教構成所謂“對立”或“取代”之關係,恰恰相反,兩者是合一的。自古希臘哲學美學,到中世紀神學美學,甚至到歐洲古典哲學美學和某些浪漫主義文藝美學那裏,美學始終被視為是基督教及其文化的一支源流,並不具有完全獨立的或者對立的存在基礎。而且古希臘哲學就把美感看成是基督教義中的真理和良善。故美、真善在柏拉圖學派的著述裏往往互為通用。直到康得、黑格爾才將此區別開來,但他們仍然維繫著三者在基督神性上的絕對合一。黑格爾還將美感與基督教作炎層次上的劃分,認為基督信仰較之審美意識在觀念形態上更為高級,因而也具備絕對價值。將美感神為基督教的低級形式或者趨同源流 的,還有施萊格爾(F. Schlegel)\施萊馬赫(Schleiermacher)、赫德(Heder)、克爾凱郭爾(S.Kierkegaard)等人。但需要補充說明的是,黑格爾至終把美感與基督教融合在所謂“理念”之中,而其“理念”很大程度上又表現出基督教神靈啟示的特色。西方現人工審美意識是有意割裂美感與基督教原本統一關係的;至於中國現代美學倒情有可原,更多的是不明就裏的人云亦云,以訛傳訛,其實對美感與基督教的淵源關係甚為隔膜。這大約是始末料到的,當然也是“五四”以來盲目崇拜西方現代文明的通病之一。
再從審美物件來看,包括被發現的自然物件和被創造的藝術形象,長期以來都與基督教及其神學文化有著一脈相承的天然聯繫。如同其他高級宗教一樣,崇高、壯美和絢爛的美感總是歸於上帝的創造與榮耀。唯有基督教數千年來始終作為主軸,支撐和展現著極其燦爛的西方文化。偉大的作家總是從一部“聖經”裏永無枯竭地獲取創作上的主題、題材、情節乃至靈感,在詩歌、小說、戲劇、建築、雕塑、音樂、美術、批評、舞蹈等諸多文世領域內,為人類創造出無數的審美物件。難怪有人說。一部西方文藝史就是基督教神學文化史。此言略有誇張卻並不失真。如此景觀,是包括東方儒道佛在內一切宗教性文化所無法企及的。況且,審美物件取決於審美關係,而基督教作為普世信仰益已透入世俗文化的各個層面,這就更加證明審美在基督教裏的生存意義。
導致現代美學游離乃至叛逆基督教母體的關鍵因素,是現代心理學促成的審美經驗。但問題是,不管怎樣也無法推論,現代審美經驗無從為基督教所涵芸蓋。二者構成不了邏輯關係。當然也無從謬論現代審美經驗取代基督教。其實,現代審美經驗之於基督教,只能發現,絕非超越,正象拔著頭髮不能脫離地球一樣道理。極限在這裏是存在著的。毋需否認,在揭示審美深層的複雜機制及其微妙感應方面,現代審美經驗比以往基督教神學中的美感論述,確切地說比傳統的神學美學(Theological Aesthetics)來得精緻深刻。然而即使是傳統神學美學也已基本處理了審美經驗的所有問題。現擇取在端作一概述。關於審美情感問題,基督教強調上帝出於愛心造人與物。特別是基督耶穌道成肉身深放普世救贖,最後在十字架上為人的罪而受難,又復活顯現帶來人類的盼望,都農突出表現神對人類的愛和與人類的受的關係。基督教其實就是愛的教義。鑒賞這一愛的教義的神學美學,不僅融匯在愛的情感裏而且也圍繞著愛的主旋律展現自己的全部內容。如果現代審美情感還末由變態心理完全左右的話,那麼應該承認,基督教和神學文化以及神學中的愛,是審美情感的完美體現。關於審美判斷的問題。現代審美經驗把康得的“主體審美判斷力”強調到獨一無二的地位,實際正是判斷本身的異化。基督教神學美學並不因為時間推移而取消自己對審美判斷的合理規範。首先,基督教強調神靈顯示下的共性美,卻也主張神一人差距中的個性美,因而有絕對美,亦有因人而異的美,其標準自然也就自然一分為二;其次,基督教強調審美信仰“萬民同一”性但卻又給人以充分的自由去回應美的恩典與啟示;再次,基督教強調的是關係存在,因此只有合一的主體,並無隔膜的客體,是審美的主體組合(intersubjective)。至於審美理想的問題,人類不僅需要審美,而且在審美物件及其判斷中進行選擇,將更具審美價值的自然與創造作為理想的追求。這種選擇以及追求固然在一定程度上體現為審美個體的自我完成,因而帶有因人而異的色彩。但一般來說,審美理想又與真理信仰密切相關,實質乃是宗教性審美意識,因為基督教表現了人類在真、善、美合一的精神完善完美的至上追求。它至今仍然促進人類的完美人格和高尚情操,使人類自覺以此確立和規範自己的人生觀與藝術創造觀。

1.3 The Anti-Christianity Deviation of Modern aesthetics
It is noteworthy that the aesthetics concepts of modern aesthetics really cause much misunderstandings and even prejudice to Christianity and its theological culture.
In view of aesthetic consciousness, the aesthetic feeling of human being is never a relation of "opposing" or "replacing". Instead, both were integrated. From ancient Greek philosophical aesthetics to medieval theological aesthetics, even till European classical philosophical aesthetics and romantic aesthetics, aesthetics have been always viewed as a branch of Christianity and its culture. It is never a fully independent or opposing foundation. In addiction, ancient Greek philosophical aesthetics viewed aesthetic feeling as the truth and goodness of Christianity creeds. Therefore, beauty and goodness have been always closely associated in the articles of Platonists'. Till Kant and Hegel, they started be separated; however, three of them are absolutely united as one in the divinity of Christianity.
Hegel used to divide aesthetic feeling from Christianity with different levels. He contended the aesthetic consciousness of Christianity faith was rated at higher levels. Therefore, it was also featured with absolute value. Furthermore, some ones like F. Schlegel, Schleiermacher, Heder and S. Kierkegaard viewed aesthetic feeling as the consciousness of lower levels or origin convergence. However, it was required to add that Hegel, finally, integrated aesthetic feeling and Christianity into the so-called "idea" wherein the idea was feature with the divine revelation to a remarkable extent. The western philosophy supposed artificial aesthetics to be intentionally separated aesthetic feeling from the united relation to Christianity. As for Chinese modern aesthetics, it was a favorable fact wherein there was more empty-headed parrot. Actually, the origin of aesthetic feeling is separated from Christianity. This is fact we never expected initially. Of course, it is one of the common problems with blind worship to Western civilization.
Furthermore, in view of aesthetic objects, including the already found natural subjects and created art image, it has been a long time that a natural relation exists in Christianity and its theological culture. Like other advanced religions, noble, magnificent and gorgeous beauty is always attributed to God's creation and glory. For past thousands of years, only the Christianity has been always a historical spindle to support and demonstrate the highly brilliant western culture. Great writer always began with a "Bible" with never-exhausted inspiration, topics, stories and plots in the domains of poems, songs, novels, dramas, architecture, sculpture, music, art, criticism and dances. Mankind created countless aesthetic objects. No wonder people always say the western culture and art history is exactly the culture history of Christianity. This remark means a slight exaggeration but not distorted. Such a view point is due to the incapability of eastern religious culture of Confucians, Taoists and Buddhists. Moreover, the aesthetic object depends on the aesthetic relations, while the Christian faith as a universal benefit has penetrated various dimensions of secular culture. This phenomenon is quite a proof for the existence of aesthetic significance in Christianity. It is a key factor to make modern aesthetics deviate and even rebel against the parental Christianity. Modern psychology forms the aesthetic experience. But the problem is that whatever deduction cannot make modern aesthetic experience covered by Christianity. Both of them can never form a logic relation. Of course, there is no way to replace the Christian fallacy with modern aesthetic experience. Actually, when we explore the relation between modern aesthetic experience and Christianity, it means discovery but not surpassing like elephants' insane running cannot make themselves leave the Earth. There had been extremities existing. It is needless to deny that modern aesthetic experience reveals more insightful contexts than those of traditional theological aesthetics when complex mechanisms and its subtle response of deeper-leveled aesthetics are disclosed. However, even traditional theological aesthetics have also dealt with all problems experienced by aesthetics. One subject is selected for explanation herein. About emotional problems of aesthetics, Christianity emphasizes mankind and earthy objects are created by God with his love. Especially, when the universal salvation was reached by the incarnation of Jesus Christ with his death on the cross for mankind' sin and subsequent revival bringing hope for mankind, all of theses facts demonstrated God's love to mankind and mankind's relation to God. Actually, the Christianity creed is love. In view of such theological aesthetics of Christianity creeds with love, it is not only a confusion with emotional love but also demonstrate all the key tone with God's love surrounded. If the emotion of modern aesthetics cannot be fully controlled by abnormal psychology, people should admit that Christianity, theological culture and theological love means the complete materialization of aesthetics feeling. About the issue for aesthetic judgment, modern aesthetics ideas emphasize and rank "main aesthetic judgment" proposed by Kant at the unique place. In fact, it exactly means the determination for its own alienation. The theological aesthetics of Christianity never nullify its own reasonable norms for aesthetic judgment with time elapsing. Firstly, Christianity emphasizes the common beauty disclosed by divinity. Furthermore, Christianity also emphasizes the individual beauty with a gap between mankind and God. Therefore, it is featured with both absolute beauty and individual beauty with standards divided from one into two separate parts. Secondly, Christianity emphasized the aesthetic faith, namely "same beauty for all", but it also allowed mankind with sufficient freedom in response to aesthetic grace and enlightenment. Again, what Christianity emphasizes is the existence of relation. Therefore, there is only a united subject but no separated object existing. It means an inter-subjective combination. About the issue of aesthetic ideals, the selection is conducted among subjects with judgment will be more featured with the chase for natural and creative ideals. Such a selection and chase can materialize the self-completeness for aesthetic individuals to a certain extent. Generally, aesthetic ideals and faith for truth are closely related. Actually, it means religious aesthetic consciousness because Christianity demonstrates the united supreme chase for truth, goodness and beauty made by people. Till, it is still a way to improve mankind aiming at perfect character and loft sentiment so that mankind can be conscious of creating and regulating life philosophy and creativity ideas in art.
