closet 和 close

　　表「櫥」的英文單字為 closet，完整地含有 close 所含的字母且順序一致，而兩者確實有語源上的關係。closet 和 close 皆可溯源到同個拉丁文單字上，且都有「封閉」的意思。

cloze 和 closure

　　closure 為名詞，和 close 也有語源上的關係，指「關上、關閉」，其中的 s 一般來說發音和 z 在單字中的常用發音一樣，cloze 即來自 closure，指「克漏字、填空題」（克漏字為音譯兼意譯），將 -ure 這個指「結果、動作」的字尾去掉、改為 e，不過還特別將 s 改為發音通常一樣的 z，以避免和 close 拼法一樣。
