國民黨總統參選人朱立倫對於民進黨總統參選人蔡英文電價政策，批評10年電價不漲是不負責任說法。蔡英文今（3）日回應，充分顯示出來朱立倫對於民進黨的政策主張，沒有詳細研究、研讀，反而是簡化，或者是去扭曲民進黨的說話，「我也覺得他應該更用功一點」。
蔡英文強調，她講的是說，在綠能相關科技持續的進步的情況下，在能有系統性而且有效的節能措施情況下，才可以預期電價不會大幅上漲。
蔡英文也批評對手，一個政黨的候選人，而且是總統參選人，這樣簡化跟扭曲對手的說法，作為一種選舉的方式，「一方面我是覺得沒有建設性，另一方面我也覺得他應該更用功一點」。
至於朱立倫稱核廢料必要時會送到國外處理。蔡英文指出，核廢料送外國處理，要特別注意兩件事情，第一件，核廢料送到外國去處哩，最後還是要回到台灣，所以還是要去面對核廢料回到台灣的時候，後續要怎麼處理的問題；第二件，核廢料送到國外處理的價格相當高昂，我國整體財政是否有能力負荷，政府也要做評估。
蔡英文認為，核廢料其實是一個非常專業的問題，不是三言兩語就可以處理，民進黨也有核廢料處理的原則，應該要讓立法院有充分的討論，讓專家也充分提供資訊的情況下來討論。
