蔡英文強調，中央政府所推出的「五加二」產業創新計畫。其中「智慧機械之都」即以台中為核心；而「亞洲?矽谷」計畫則是落腳桃園，皆為政府全力發展的重點方案，希望將新興城市的發展潛力發揮到極限，也讓台灣在國際競爭時，可成就最強的「國家隊」。
