－ What You Can Expect －

The South coast of Iceland has so much to offer. We start by driving south on Highway 1 and will explain the geology of Iceland as we drive. We will show you many of the amazing and exciting places that have emerged in Iceland in both the past and the present.

We'll stop and look at the magnificent waterfalls of Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss, and then you will see from a distance Iceland』s most famous volcanic glacier Eyjafjallajokull that erupted in the summer 2010.

Our next destination is the small town of Vik, where we will take a longer stop to enjoy a good lunch and visit the local wool shop before we head back. On the way back following the coastline, we drive to a beautiful black sandy beach called Reynisfjara.

There you can get close to the basaltic rock pillars that you saw from you lunch table at Vik, and also see the power that the sea has on the land and the fabulous prints it leaves on the landscape.

Next we visit Dyrholaey, which is home for several thousand puffins that come every summer to nest. (Dyrholaey is subject to preservation during a part of the year, making this stop unavailable).

After we have absorbed the beautiful coastal scenery, and taken lots of photographs, we head out towards the glacier Solheimajokull. You will drive right up to the glacier』s edge and get to touch it.

After a full-day touring, it is time to return to Reykjavik, taking with us beautiful images and memories from the south coast of Iceland, a place that we are certain you will visit again one day.
