壽山動物園每年均辦夜宿活動，讓小朋友難得在動物園過夜，還可體驗動物保育員平日工作內容，營隊非常熱門搶手，今年400個名額開放報名當日即額滿，園方安排學員們親入大象的家幫忙清糞便，真實體會保育員的辛苦。

壽山動物園主任莊絢智表示，2009年起每年定期舉辦夜宿營隊，參加學員住在教育中心，隔天再體驗吹箭、替動物準備早餐等保育員平日工作，因為名額有限，家長報名搶破頭，這幾年均增開至8梯次共400個名額，仍是報名首日就被搶光。

今年星空夜宿營已辦理4梯次，園方特別安排學童探索鄰近的壽山國家自然公園，由導覽員解說壽山獨有珊瑚礁地質、特有種植物及台灣獼猴、山羌等動物，讓學童了解不同的保育作法。

莊絢智說，小朋友夜宿後，隔天擔任非洲象「阿里」的小小保育員，由正式保育員指導如何幫大象清掃糞便、製作早餐，小朋友聞到糞便味道摀著鼻子喊臭，但保育員告訴他們，在動物之中，非洲象的糞便聞起來已是相對「清新」。

觀光局長曾姿雯指出，壽山動物園是難得的都會型動物園，肩負動物研究、保育、社會教育與休閒遊憩責任，園方每年暑假的營隊活動將保育觀念融入課程，讓學童邊玩邊學，成為未來保育界的小尖兵。

先前表演嘉賓樂團八三夭唱「東區東區」、「搖勒搖勒」等歌時，坐在台下的張惠妹、蔡依林都起身跟著歌曲搖擺；網路人氣團體玖壹壹從台下走上台，帶來「癡情的男子漢」、「愛你一萬年」、「再出發」、「打鐵」等歌，最後還有泳裝辣妹選美走秀助陣。1050625
