（中央社記者林宏翰台北19日綜合報導）美國職棒堪薩斯皇家在主場對波士頓紅襪雙重賽第2戰，台灣投手王建民在8局上2人出局滿壘時登板後援，共投1.1局面對4名打者，全部解決。
王建民第8局登場後援，當時比數1比5落後，滿壘、兩人出局時面對「老爹」歐提茲（David Ortiz），只投了3球，用內角滑球讓他敲內野滾地出局，結束對手攻勢。
王建民9局上繼續投，首名打者拉米瑞茲（HanleyRamirez）三壘滾地出局，三振蕭奧（Travis Shaw）之後，羅勒奇（Josh Rutledge）二壘滾地出局。
王建民第9局飆出三上三下，這次出賽面對4名打者，1個三振、3個滾地，共投12球其中9個好球，最快球速93英里（150公里）。
這場比賽是王建民本季第12次出賽，與上一次出賽相隔2天，他在美國時間14日、15日對亞特蘭大勇士連2天出賽，拿下第2勝。1050519
