相較於民進黨大費周章「保密防諜」，國民黨及洪秀柱陣營則顯得「老神在在」，僅加強落實日常資安工作，較具敏感性或機密性的議題，則會避免在LINE群組討論，改以開會或打電話方式聯繫，避免重要消息走漏。

「沒有什麼不可告人的事，又不是戒嚴時期！」洪營人士說，現在連洪辦和黨中央開會的內容都會被洩漏，因此未來若有競選影片或選戰「祕密武器」，會加強保密工作，避免發生竊聽「老鼠尾」事件。

目前國民黨中央的資安工作，主要由國發院下設的「科技服務中心」負責，國發院長吳肇銘表示，今年4月開始，黨部全面要求落實，包括所有黨務主管和基層黨工的電腦，都要使用個人帳號、密碼登錄，每天也都會作防火牆及防毒入侵檢測，一旦發現有異常狀況，馬上就可追蹤。

一位黨內人士則說，LINE群組中的重大消息會外洩，通常都是「內鬼」所為，國民黨比較沒有這方面問題，也不會去設「摩斯密碼」或代號。該位人士表示，7月底開始，就要求所有工作人員在入口網頁輸入個人帳號及密碼，以防止被駭客入侵。
