美國研發出MERS疫苗，它對動物有效。接下來要進行人體試驗。

美國衛生院在老鼠和猴子身上，試用MERS疫苗，老鼠體內產生了大量的抗體，猴子則沒有出現嚴重肺炎，肺部發炎是MERS最主要的症狀。

研究發現，猴子等靈長類動物感染MERS之後，症狀不會像人那麼嚴重，美國研發出的疫苗，對人有沒有效，被打了一個問號。

MERS是2012年在沙烏地阿拉伯首次被發現，目前全球累計死亡病例達到490人。
