美國棒球作家協會（BBWAA）今天公布年度最有價值球員得主，美聯由天使外野手楚奧特（Mike Trout）勝出，拿下生涯第二座MVP獎座，國聯則由剛得到世界大賽宜蘭縣南澳鄉身份證借錢 冠軍的小熊強打布萊恩（Kris Bryant）獲此榮耀。

楚奧特獲得19張第一名選票、8張第二名、第三名與第五名各一張，總得分356分，紅襪貝茲（Mookie Betts）以311分名列第二，太空人亞土維（Jose Altuve）以227分排名第三。

能夠擊敗貝茲與亞土維，楚奧特認為非常瘋狂，並且表示，「這感覺太不可思議，我只是努力讓自己一年比一年更好，這太棒了，我們當然會慶祝一下。」天使隊史上共4度獲得這個獎項，他就拿下兩座。

球隊未打進季後賽仍獲獎

楚奧特奪獎同時也創造歷史，成為大聯盟唯一一位生涯前5個完整球季都在MVP票選中排進前2名的球員，也是第二位連續5年都在MVP票選前2的球員，另一位是邦茲（Barry Bonds）。楚奧特也成為自2003年效力遊騎兵的A-Rod之後，美聯第一位所屬球隊未打入季後賽的MVP。

MVP票選一般會考量球隊戰績，天使今年74勝88敗，在美聯西區僅排第四，楚奧特卻能獲此獎項，靠得是他領先群雄的優異表現，楚奧特今年打擊率3成15、並有29發全壘打、100分打點、30次盜壘，另外4成41上壘率、123次得分、116次保送都排名大聯盟第一。

楚奧特表示，「很多人問我在一個勝少敗多的球隊中有沒有關係，有了MVP我想一切都不重要，我每年都告訴自己要成為聯盟中最好的球員，這是我的目標之一。」楚奧特曾在2014年拿下過MVP，其他年份都屈居第二。
