美國馬里蘭州最大城市巴爾的摩，27日在一場哀悼非裔青年的喪禮後，爆發嚴重的警民衝突和街頭掠奪。暴動迫使馬里蘭州進入緊急狀況，州政府調動國民兵進入待命警戒，而巴爾的摩金鶯隊當晚間7點於主場出戰白襪一役因而延期。旅美金鶯隊主力左投陳偉殷旋即透過臉書向球迷、國人報平安（上圖，摘自陳偉殷臉書）。
他寫著：「因為現在巴爾的摩發生很嚴重的衝突，所以暫停了今天的比賽。也很謝謝大家的關心，我現在也安全的回到家了！」
早在陳偉殷25日於主場先發對壘紅襪同時，金鶯坎登園球場外的和平抗爭即變成暴力騷亂，為確保場內數萬球迷的安全，金鶯球團甚至一度關閉所有出入口。是役球場大螢幕還打出「為了安全，巴爾的摩市長請所有球迷留在場內，等候進一步通知」的警語。
金鶯隊27日於比賽預定開打前宣布，在和巴爾的摩警局協商之後決定，這場比賽延期舉行。這是金鶯與白襪在巴爾的摩三連戰的首役，依照賽程今、明兩天將進行第2、3戰；接著金鶯將於台灣時間5月2日至4日繼續於坎登園球場與光芒隊進行3連戰。
由於巴爾的摩市自周二起為期一周宵禁，大聯盟官網報導，接下來金鶯、白襪的賽事能否如期舉行仍未定。
依據原本金鶯先發投手的輪值排序，陳偉殷是台灣時間5月2日對壘光芒，不過因為暴動造成賽事延期，屆時他能否順利登板進行個人本季第5場先發拚今年首勝，還得看局勢演變與教練團的安排。
