「2016花在彰化－溪州花博嬉遊記」活動，即日起到2月22日的新春期間，分別在溪州公園、田尾公路花園、埤頭百寶村，及北斗鎮老街等四地盛大舉辦。
同樣地，2016中台灣元宵燈會，將於17日至29日，分別在台中公園、清水港區藝術中心、豐原葫蘆墩公園等三地登場，展開為期13天的燈節藝術饗宴；活動主題「嬉遊台中」，市府首度與國際知名品牌大嘴猴合作，且三地燈區也將同步營造美麗燈海，展現台中市年輕、樂活城市形象。
彰化縣政府表示，2016花在彰化－溪州花博嬉遊記，特別將溪州公園打造成一座「遊樂園」，以猴年主題布展，包括「西遊記」中的花果山、火焰山、水濂洞、蟠桃聖會、東勝神洲、迎賓花香、空中懸掛筋斗雲，及芭蕉扇低碳樂活區等場景。
另外，現場也有花毯地景、3D地景藝術圖、彰化農業文化特色展覽、地方特色展、休閒農業展，及警用重機展示等靜態展出，還有動態的學校特色團隊及社區特色節目表演。
縣府說，遊客還可以參加地產地銷農特產品展售會、親子DIY教室、特色美食區、社區市集、地方伴手禮行銷、視障按摩體驗，及花車馬車歡樂遊行等豐富的活動。
