The old dormitory of Bank of Taiwan at Beitou is a complex construction of three buildings. A-building was Shinmatsushima Hotel constructed in 1935 which was a high-class hot spring hotel.
B-building and C-building were private villas of Kozuka Kenkichi, a businessman, constructed in 1922. Later they were purchased by Shinmatsushima Hotel. Hence three buildings became a top-notch hotel.
In 1941, the whole complex building was sold to Bank of Taiwan for use as recreation club and dormitory.
