STORY OUTLINE

Travel writer Lin Xiaoyang traveled to Europe on a self-guided trip to search for his missing girlfriend Xie Huijun, staying at the Paradise Hotel by Lake Lucerne. Lin Xiaoyang did not know that this hotel was the headquarters of vampires and accidentally became involved in the dark world, caught in the struggle between the opposing factions of vampires.

Lin Xiaoyang met the painter Huang Lihua, who lived in the mural of his room. Huang Lihua told Lin Xiaoyang that he was an old vampire trapped in the hotel, unable to control his own body. Lin Xiaoyang sympathized with Huang Lihua’s situation, and the two became friends despite the age difference. On Ghost Day, Huang Lihua warned Xiaoyang to leave the hotel in time to avoid falling victim to the vampires. Immediately afterward, Huang Lihua was arrested and punished, being turned into a stone statue by black magic. Grateful for Huang Lihua’s self-sacrifice, Lin Xiaoyang returned to the hotel, took the film rolls from Huang Lihua’s stone statue, and brought Huang Lihua’s artwork to Paris to display publicly. Subsequently, Princess Maria learned of Huang Lihua’s misfortune and ordered her subordinate general, the Dragon Knight, to lead the Iron-Blooded Guard to sweep away the evil ghosts under Anderson who occupied the Paradise Hotel, rescuing Huang Lihua.

Archmage Rufus unexpectedly discovered Lin Xiaoyang, the reincarnation of David, through the image in a magical crystal ball. He reported this matter to the leader Anderson. Anderson greatly feared David because David had once been his subordinate and defeated him. Rufus strongly advocated recruiting Lin Xiaoyang to strengthen their ranks, and Anderson accepted Rufus’s suggestion. Rufus, using a beauty trap, sent his female disciple Annie to Paris, who used minor tricks to approach Xiaoyang. Unexpectedly, Annie was the missing girlfriend Xie Huijun whom Xiaoyang had thought of day and night. For a time, Xiaoyang was confused and infatuated, not realizing that Xie Huijun had already been enchanted by Rufus, causing her to lose her true nature.

Huang Lihua went to Paris to find Xiaoyang, granting him the ability to paint, and instructed him to return to take over the management of the Paradise Hotel. He also informed Xiaoyang that his granddaughter, Huang Minhua, would soon arrive at the hotel. Minhua appeared as scheduled, and under Huang Lihua’s deliberate guidance, Xiaoyang and Minhua developed feelings for each other. Afterwards, Huang Lihua revealed many shocking secrets to Xiaoyang, saying that all of the previous events had been orchestrated by Princess Maria. Xiaoyang was entrusted with a heavy responsibility by Lihua and learned that in his previous life he had been the chief guard of Princess Maria’s lover David. In the future, he must assist Princess Maria in defeating the ambitious Dark World vampire king Anderson. However, Xiaoyang still had doubts about whether he possessed innate extraordinary abilities. Only when Minhua gave him her first kiss, unexpectedly breaking the seal on Xiaoyang, did he recall his past-life memories.

Lin Xiaoyang, under the guidance of both mentor and friend Father John, gradually developed his potential. Drawing inspiration from martial arts comics, he comprehended a profound swordsmanship technique. Father John fully assisted the princess, first subduing the couple-assassin duo, Rona and Case, under White Wolf, one of Anderson’s generals. Later, in a battle at the Paradise Hotel, he joined forces with Lin Xiaoyang to injure the Phantom Hand George and Scissor-Hand Jack, who were Anderson’s left and right guardians. This forced the former to abandon his martial arts and retire, and the latter to commit suicide.

Anderson, bitter over the loss of his left and right guardians at the hands of Princess Maria, could not contain his resentment. Under Archmage Rufus’s plan, he divided his forces into three routes. White Wolf and Black Bear each led a route of vampire bat soldiers to attack major cities such as Naples and Florence, slaughtering innocent civilians to create panic. The goal was to lure Princess Maria into deploying the Iron-Blooded Guard, keeping them occupied in several Italian cities, while Anderson’s main forces crossed the border into Switzerland to directly attack the Paradise Hotel and the Sky Castle.

Father John, resourceful and strategic, coordinated both the Vatican exorcist army led by Father Strelong and Princess Maria’s Iron-Blooded Guard under the Dragon Knight, to support Italian military and police forces in sweeping the bat soldier troops under White Wolf and Black Bear across several cities, stabilizing the populace. At the same time, he personally went to the Italian-Swiss border checkpoint, organizing local military, police, and militia to resist Anderson’s main forces using natural barriers. When Anderson’s main army crossed the border, they met fierce resistance. After several rounds of fire attacks, the vampire army of thousands was reduced to only a few dozen, greatly relieving the pressure on the Paradise Hotel.

Anderson and Rufus, with the remaining troops, arrived at the Paradise Hotel to issue a challenge. Father John returned in time, eliminated the remaining outer bat soldiers, and joined forces with Lin Xiaoyang. After fierce combat, Princess Maria, transformed into Annie (Xie Huijun), pretended to be captured and seemingly killed by Anderson, spurring Xiaoyang’s fighting spirit and unlocking his potential. Finally, Anderson was utterly defeated, and Rufus was influenced by Princess Maria in time to leave the scene.

With the combined efforts of the Vatican exorcist army led by Strelong and the Iron-Blooded Guard led by the Dragon Knight, and the support of Italian military and police, the bat soldier troops under White Wolf and Black Bear were forced to retreat back to their lair on Sicily with only remnants surviving. However, the exorcist army and Iron-Blooded Guard pursued them to Sicily, and with the assistance of inside agents, forced White Wolf and Black Bear to open their gates and surrender. The remaining forces of Vampire King Anderson were finally annihilated.

Huang Minhua returned to the Paradise Hotel for a vacation and rekindled her relationship with Lin Xiaoyang. Under the officiation of Huang Lihua and Father John, they married. Princess Maria presented the couple with a pair of treasured swords. Lin Xiaoyang, drawing inspiration from martial arts comics, and together with Huang Minhua, developed a paired sword technique, a fierce dual-sword combination called “Soul-Darkening Devastation” technique.

Princess Maria sent Rufus ahead to investigate Tanya’s whereabouts, then summoned Father John and Strelong, entrusting them with the mission to go to the Shadow Valley and retrieve the “Solar Staff” from Tanya (Anderson’s daughter), instructing Lin Xiaoyang and Huang Minhua to accompany them. Father John and his party of seven traveled deep into the Alps, passing through the Hunter Village and the Half-Orc Market, where locals advised them not to enter the forbidden Shadow Valley. Along the way, they were watched by wolf-tribe half-orcs. At the entrance of Hell Valley, the party was intercepted by wolf warriors led by Ron. Ron reunited with David, the reincarnation of Lin Xiaoyang, and upon learning their intention to enter Shadow Valley, voluntarily offered to guide them through Hell Valley and into the terrifying Monster Forest out of brotherly loyalty.

Father John and Lin Xiaoyang’s party were attacked by the lizard tribe in Hell Valley, leaving several wolf warriors injured. Lin Xiaoyang, displaying both intelligence and courage, teamed up with his wife Huang Minhua, first capturing the lizard tribe leader and forcing the enemies to retreat, successfully passing through Hell Valley. Entering the Monster Forest, they were attacked by giant spiders, scorpions, and centipedes. Fortunately, Lin Xiaoyang and Huang Minhua employed their fierce sword techniques, killing several attacking monsters. Under the couple’s protection, only a few party members were injured. The party successfully passed through the Monster Forest and arrived at the entrance of Shadow Valley. Rufus, who had already arrived, met them and reported that the valley entrance was guarded by fire dragons and giants. Father John decided to divide the party into three groups to lure the enemies and help Lin Xiaoyang, Huang Minhua, and Rufus enter the valley.

At this time, Tanya received a report from the monster leader and learned that Ron and David (Lin Xiaoyang) were approaching. Considering David’s extraordinary abilities, she realized that blocking the party would require heavy sacrifices and decided to meet David at the valley entrance.

Tanya sent messengers riding dragons to bring Lin Xiaoyang and his wife. She revealed that to protect the Solar Staff from being taken by villains, she had once made a deal with Satan, binding her ability to be with David in this life. She had also placed a seal on the Solar Staff and reminded David not to be used by Maria as a pawn. David (Lin Xiaoyang) was shocked and persuaded Huang Minhua to let the staff remain with Tanya, deciding to leave the land of conflict. The couple returned empty-handed and informed Father John of the situation. Father John expressed understanding and respected Lin Xiaoyang’s decision. Tanya instructed the monster leader to guide Father John’s party out of the Monster Forest. Lin Xiaoyang and his wife parted with their companions at the entrance of Hell Valley, entrusting Father John with a message to Princess Maria, requesting her to allow them freedom, then left with Ron to return to the wolf tribe.

Princess Maria received Father John and his party but did not see the Solar Staff. Father John conveyed Lin Xiaoyang’s message. Maria then realized that the price of her obsession with ruling the Dark World was losing David (Lin Xiaoyang) once again, her lover from a previous life.

Lin Xiaoyang and Huang Minhua stayed with the wolf tribe for several days, then flew back to Taiwan together. Maria, unwilling to let go, wished to summon Lin Xiaoyang to her side and assign him important duties to help manage the order of the Dark World. She sent Huang Lihua to Taiwan as an emissary. Huang Lihua knew that this journey to Asia would ultimately be futile. He arrived in Tamsui and unexpectedly found the couple working as street artists along the riverside walkway. Huang Lihua explained his mission but encouraged them to choose the life they wanted for themselves.
